Hey, how have you been? I know I’ve been quiet and not my usual self lately. But I can explain if you’ll take me back… Pretty please?… Awww, fanks xxx Okay, I’ll come clean and explain what’s been going on.

Mental
I cracked. I cracked hard. Honestly, I considered for a long time whether I wanted to continue in the sport. Everything has been changing for me with moving to Cardiff and starting a new job. Both of those things I found draining, stressful, and even with all my previous motivation I wasn’t sure I wanted it anymore.
I just couldn’t see how I was going to be able to train to the same level I had been before. I knew I couldn’t be in the sport and be mediocre. This got me down so much, I wasn’t myself for a while.
It felt like all of my hard work had been for nothing after I dropped out of inter-counties xc squad. Being in that race had been a massive target for me for so long…. and I had to let it go. It’s literally one race but to me it felt like way more. It’s mad, running is just a HOBBY but… I dunno, I just hate not being the best I can be and the injury had taken it out of my control.
The Return?
I hope so. I really hope so. My hip still isn’t 100% but it’s definitely good enough to train on. I have done a session, and for the effort I was actually moving very well. The shitty hours I had done on the bike had just about kept some fitness together and has given me a decent base to rebuild.
I have entered Cardiff Bay 10K (29th March) which was difficult for me. I have always wanted to improve and in the 3 years I have been running only 1 race have I not PB’ed. Barring a major miracle I have to assume I won’t PB in this race. But I am going to use it as a sighter. There are always bigger things to come.

Monday – 30min easy bike, 40min easy treadmill
Tuesday – 2.1 miles WU, 3x6mins (2mins), 2.0 miles CD
Wednesday – 9.3 miles easy @ 7:10min/mile
Thursday – 10.3 miles steady treadmill
Friday – REST
Saturday – 1 hour steady @ 6:20min/mile
Sunday – 13.1 miles @ 6:25min/mile
Totals – 56.6 miles and 6hrs 54mins of activity
I am going to return with the blog (again hopefully turns out I’m lazy) but only do it once a week. Sorry fo the boringness I just felt like I needed to explain myself and I couldn’t act like nothing happened
