They say that you learn a lot about yourself when training for and running a marathon. I am not sure who ‘they’ are but they weren’t wrong. Both of my parents have run marathons in the past. I had seen firsthand how a marathon can break someone down, how it brings out raw emotion, and how it will take you to the edge and then shove you right over. I was under no illusion about what could happen, but there were vests to chase and dreams to be realised, this was my time.
Ello ello, how are we all doing? Did you know I ran the Great South Run? I think I did a very good job of keeping it quiet 😉 First it was Greggsland a few weeks back and now it was time to tackle the Navy Capital of England!

h, hello there. Fancy meeting you in a place like this? Do you come here often? Well you bloody well should! It’s time to round up the week 🙂
Anyone looking to succeed in middle or long-distance races needs to work their aerobic system hard. Why? Because a 5K race is metabolically around 90% aerobic whilst a marathon is about 99%!
